Irvington Facilities Planning Report Now Available

Facilities Planning Report Now Available

The Village is pleased to share that the final consultant report is now available for the community to review here. This report is the result of an extensive, comprehensive review of the needs and potential options for Irvington’s Village facilities, with input from our Facilities Planning Committee, Facilities Planning Steering Committee, residents, stakeholders, Village administration and Village Department heads and employees.

Please note that no decisions have been made about any Village facility. The report provides the Board of Trustees and the community with a detailed look at the options, estimated costs, benefits, and trade-offs involved in addressing our long-term facility needs.

This report is not the end of the process, but an important next step. Based on the report, community input, and other ongoing studies, the Village will identify options for more detailed design, engineering, environmental, and financial analysis before any commitments are made.

Any future improvements would be part of a long-term, phased plan, balancing the Village’s facility needs with costs, available funding, community priorities, and the need to maintain responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources. We encourage residents to review the report and participate as this conversation continues.

The project consultants, Beyer Blender and Belle, will be presenting the report at the Wednesday, October 14 Board of Trustees Work Session. Please note that we have moved the usual location of our meetings to the Irvington High School/Middle School Auditorium at 40 N. Broadway. This space has the ability to accommodate larger attendance, as well as offering online attendance via Zoom.

The meeting will be held from 7pm to 10pm. It will include the presentation and time for community questions.

The Board will hold additional sessions for community input and questions.
