FBGC Emergency Management: Infest Zone Permit Information

Fredericksburg/Gillespie County Emergency Management: Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) established Infested Zone 03 that covers portions of western Gillespie County. Zone 03 is in place due to 1 confirmed case in Gillespie County. Areas in the yellow, Infested zone have a animal movement restriction in place. Areas in the blue, surveillance zone do not have a restriction in place. There is no current end time in place for the zone as of now, but all changes will be shared when received. Yellow Zone: All warm blooded animals cannot move outside of the yellow area without an inspection by TAHC and an approval permit provided by TAHC. To schedule an inspection, contact TAHC at 737-292-9983. All questions regarding inspection permits can be answered through the TAHC. This line is ONLY for those in the yellow, infested zone in Gillespie County. For general inquiries for residents in the zone, call 737-900-7455.

Blue Zone: Animals can move around the blue area and outside of the blue area. Extra surveillance through traps and cooperating inspections are being conducted by state agencies.

➡️Inspect livestock and outdoor animals daily. Examine animals for small and large wounds and ensure wounds are treated and covered. Report all suspicious wounds or larvae/maggot sightings in livestock or exotic species to TASC at 1-800-550-8242 (24/7). Report animal concerns to a local vet who can examine your pet, diagnose the concern, and collect the sample. Report suspicious infections in wildlife to Texas Parks and Wildlife at 512-389-4505.
