Carbondale Police Press Release - Reckless Discharge of a Firearm

CARBONDALE – On November 2, 2025, at 12:25 a.m. City of Carbondale Police Officers responded to the sound of gunshots near the 400 block of West Cherry Street. As officers arrived, several individuals in the area began running away. During the investigation, officers located two firearms that had been discarded and spent shell casings. As a result of the initial investigation, officers arrested Brandon J. Moore, 18, of Oklahoma, for Resisting and Obstructing a Peace Officer, and Lanika L. White, 39, of Carbondale, was arrested on a valid Jackson County Warrant for Driving While License Suspended. Moore and White were incarcerated in the Jackson County Jail pending detention hearings. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, but there was damage to an abandoned house as a result of the gunfire.
