Dalian Street Emergency Update: Water Main Repairs and Temporary Service Interruption Expected
Public Works Emergency Update – Dalian Street
A Public Works Utility Crew was excavating to expose a broken water main on Dalian Street between Howell and Bayou Road when an unmarked gas line was accidentally struck.
Emergency services are currently on scene and have secured the surrounding neighborhood while CenterPoint Energy works to repair the damaged gas line.
Once the gas line has been repaired and the area is deemed safe, the Utility Crew will shut off the water service to Dalian Street to begin repairs to the broken water main.
Please be advised: Once water main repairs begin, the work is expected to take approximately 4–6 hours to complete. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as crews work to safely resolve the situation and restore water service as quickly as possible.

If you smell natural gas outside of the work area, notice a strong or persistent odor, or have concerns about a possible gas leak, leave the area immediately and contact CenterPoint Energy at 1-800-752-8036.
