A Flood Watch has been issued from this afternoon through tomorrow afternoon. The National Weather Service reports that scattered to numerous instances of urban, poor drainage, and flooding near rivers or streams are possible. The largest threat of flooding is forecast for this afternoon and night. 1.5 to 3 inches of rain is likely, but certain areas can see up to 5 inches of rain and rainfall rates could exceed 2 inches per hour.
Residents in areas that experience flooding should take precautions now to prepare for the coming rain and be ready to monitor news and alerts for potential Flood Warnings that could be issued.
Today: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2pm. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. High near 84. Northeast wind 8 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Tonight: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm before 11pm, then showers likely. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Low around 63. Northeast wind 9 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.
Friday: A 40 percent chance of showers, mainly before 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 73. Northeast wind 11 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
