City of Madison Welcomes Costco at Clift Farm
The City of Madison is officially welcoming the Costco at Clift Farm into our city limits. At its Monday, January 12 meeting, the Madison City Council approved annexing the property, which was previously in unincorporated Madison County.
What does this mean for residents and shoppers? Starting February 18, the 2% developer fee will expire, and customers will pay the same 9% sales tax already standard across Madison. Police and fire services will continue without interruption, as mutual aid agreements were already in place and remain active.
This annexation strengthens Madison’s commercial development profile by bringing one of the region’s largest retail destinations fully into the city, supporting long-term growth while keeping services consistent for the community.
