Street Sweeping Progress Update
Street sweeping has been completed in the Woodland Hills, Ashley Estates, and Belle Ridge neighborhoods. Crews will continue progressing north, and residents in upcoming service areas are asked to refrain from parking on the street or placing items in the roadway between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. to allow crews to work efficiently and safely.
Street sweeping operations began on January 5 on all curb and gutter streets within the City of Madison. Weather permitting, this annual sweeping program is expected to be completed in approximately six weeks.
Friendly reminders for residents:
- Yard debris, trash receptacles, and recycling carts should be placed directly behind the curb for weekly pickup.
- Please do not place debris in front of sweeping crews or blow leaves into the street.
- Shrubs, tree branches, and large piles of leaves can damage the street sweeper.
- Trash receptacles should be brought in promptly after collection to prevent obstructions.
This is a one-time annual sweep. The street sweeper will maneuver around any obstructions and will not return to resweep blocked areas.
The street sweeping program helps improve stormwater quality by removing contaminants from roadways before they enter the storm drainage system.
