SRPD seeks community assistance in identifying a bank robbery suspect
On Saturday, May 10, 2025, at approximately 9:33 am, the Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) responded to a panic alarm activation at the Montgomery Village branch of Exchange Bank, 2416 Montgomery Drive. Officers learned an adult male wrapped in a blanket entered the bank, pointed a handgun at a teller, and demanded cash. After being given an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect left the bank on foot.
Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect. Detectives with the SRPD Violent Crimes Investigations Team (VCI) responded to the bank and assumed the investigation.
The suspect was described as a tall, slender adult male, wearing black jeans and black shoes. The suspect’s age and race are not currently known. The blanket he used to conceal his identity appears to be a light purple or lavender color with an unknown pattern.
SRPD VCI detectives are continuing to investigate this robbery and would like to speak with anyone who has information potentially related to this incident. A reward of up to $2,500 is being offered by the Sonoma County Alliance Community Engagement and Safety Rewards Fund. The reward is for information leading to the arrest of the suspect or suspects involved in this incident.
