Remembering Detective Marylou Armer, EOW 3/31/2020

On this solemn occasion, we honor the memory of Detective Marylou Armer, who tragically passed away five years ago due to complications from Covid-19. As the first law enforcement officer in California to succumb to this devastating virus, her loss was felt deeply across the state and beyond. 

Detective Armer dedicated over two decades of her life to serving and protecting her community. She began her career as a Field & Evidence Technician, demonstrating a meticulous attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to justice. In 2008, she took on the role of Police Officer, where her dedication and compassion shone brightly. At the time of her passing, she was serving as a Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Detective, a role that underscored her unwavering commitment to supporting and advocating for the most vulnerable members of society. 

Marylou was not only a dedicated public servant but also a beloved friend, daughter, sister, wife, and stepmother. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support touched the lives of all who knew her. She was a pillar of strength and a source of comfort to her family and friends, as well as a bright light within our department. 

As we remember Detective Armer, we celebrate her life and the profound impact she had on her community. Her legacy of service, compassion, and dedication continues to inspire us all. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched and in the continued efforts to protect and serve the community she loved so dearly. 

Today, we pay tribute to Detective Marylou Armer, honoring her memory and the remarkable contributions she made. Her courage and dedication will never be forgotten, and her legacy will continue to inspire future generations of law enforcement officers.
