Santa Rosa Police DUI Checkpoint Results

Santa Rosa, Calif. – On Friday December 20th, 2024, 2 drivers were arrested for DUI.

The DUI checkpoint was held at Morgan Street and Fifth Street from 8:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m.

drivers were cited for operating a vehicle unlicensed and 7 drivers were cited for operating a vehicle with a suspended/revoked license, 698 vehicles were contacted, and 11 drivers were evaluated for DUI. 1 driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, 2 drivers were arrested for outstanding warrants.  2 drivers were arrested for probation violations and 2 drivers were arrested for failing to having a court ordered ignition interlock device in their vehicle


DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints are to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.

Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
