Search Warrant Leads to Possession of Narcotics for Sale and Weapons Violations

In September 2024, the Santa Rosa Police Department Narcotics Team began an investigation into a person distributing cocaine in Santa Rosa and its surrounding areas. Detectives identified the involved person to be 28-year-old Santa Rosa resident, Luis Felipe Esquivel-Quintero.

On 10/16/2024, at approximately 1510 hours, Detectives from the SRPD Narcotics Unit, Gangs Crimes Team, and Healdsburg PD, along with officers from the Special Enforcement Team, detained Esquivel-Quintero in his vehicle in the 200 block of W. College Av pursuant to a search warrant. Detectives searched his vehicle and located a loaded stolen Smith & Wesson semi-automatic handgun and approximately one ounce of suspected cocaine that was packaged for sale.

Detectives and officers then responded to the 1300 block of W. College Av and executed the service of a search warrant at that location. Detectives and officers located approximately 2 more ounces of suspected cocaine, several digital scales, hundreds of small ziplok baggies, 9mm ammunition, and approximately $3,700.00 in US currency.

Esquivel-Quintero is prohibited from possessing firearms and/or ammunition. He was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail for the following charges:

  • 11351 H&S – Possession of a Narcotic for Sale.
  • 11352(a) H&S – Transportation of a Narcotic for Sale.
  • 11370.1 H&S – Armed While Dealing.
  • 29800(a)(1) PC – Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
  • 30305(a)(1) PC – Felon in Possession of Ammunition.
  • 25850(c)(2) PC – Possession of a Loaded Stolen Firearm.
  • 25400(a)(1) PC – Possession of a Concealed Firearm in a Vehicle.
  • 496(a) PC – Possession of Stolen Property.
