Two Men Arrested for Santa Rosa Home Invasion Robbery
Santa Rosa Police have arrested two men, Jason Buck and Vallen Burkhauser, for their involvement in an armed home invasion robbery on the 1700 block of Dorado Court on Sunday, October 27, 2024. The initial incident began when Buck allegedly forced his way into a residence, armed with a handgun, and restrained the victim while stealing items. After the robbery, Buck fled the scene. The victim managed to escape a short time later and called for help. Despite an immediate search, police were initially unable to locate the suspect.
SRPD’s Violent Crimes Investigation Team later identified Buck, a 48-year-old resident of Santa Rosa, as a suspect. They also discovered he had an accomplice, Vallen Burkhauser, a 29-year-old Santa Rosa resident, who allegedly drove him to the scene. After leaving the scene, investigators believe the two fraudulently utilized the victim’s access cards at different locations in Sonoma County.
Investigators tracked Burkhauser to a location on Santa Rosa Avenue, where he was arrested without incident on the morning of October 29. Buck was later apprehended that evening during a traffic stop near Lotus Court and Barham Avenue.
Both suspects were booked into the Sonoma County Jail on multiple charges. Burkhauser faces charges of robbery (PC 211), two counts of commercial burglary (PC 459), identity theft (PC 530.5), and a probation violation (PC 1203.2(a)). Buck faces similar charges, including robbery (PC 211), kidnapping during robbery (PC 209(b)), false imprisonment (PC 237), elder abuse (PC 368(b)(1)), commercial burglary (PC 459), identity theft (PC 530.5), and a violation of post-release community supervision (PC 3455).
