Firearm Arrest Following Traffic Stop
On October 31, 2026, at approximately 12:34 a.m., a Santa Rosa Police officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 500 block of Sebastopol Road for a traffic violation. During contact with the vehicle's occupants, the officer developed probable cause to conduct a search of the vehicle.
During the search, officers located a loaded .40-caliber privately manufactured semi-automatic handgun concealed within an item of clothing. Through their investigation, officers determined the clothing belonged to Jordan Scott, a 19-year-old resident of Fairfield, California.
Further inspection of the firearm revealed it was equipped with a threaded barrel, which, under California law, classified the firearm as an assault weapon.
Scott was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail on the following charges:
- PC 25850(a) - Possession of a loaded firearm in public (felony)
- PC 25400(a)(1) - Carrying a concealed firearm within a vehicle (felony)
