Reminder: Flock Community Meeting Tomorrow, 9/17

The Santa Rosa Police Department invites you to join us this Thursday, September 17, at 6 p.m. for a community meeting regarding the department's use of Flock Automated License Plate Reader cameras.

Location: Utility Field Office, 35 Stony Point Road

Live Stream: If you cannot attend the meeting in-person, you may stream the meeting live via Zoom here: https://srcity-org.zoom.us/j/86911237486

Over the past several weeks, we've shared information about how Flock cameras support investigations into serious crimes and the safeguards in place to protect privacy. This meeting is your opportunity to learn more, ask questions, and provide feedback directly to Chief John Cregan and SRPD personnel.

Topics will include:

  • Public safety benefits

  • Privacy protections

  • Data retention and auditing practices

  • Information-sharing restrictions

  • Program oversight and accountability

  • Opportunities for community feedback

We encourage everyone to attend or stream this meeting. Transparency and community input are essential to maintaining public trust and ensuring the program continues to meet the needs and expectations of the community.

We look forward to seeing you Thursday evening.

Spanish translators will be in attendance. Requests for additional language translation, disability-related accommodations, or other assistance may be directed to khawkins@srcity.org or 707-543-3556.
