Use Caution, Mountain Lion in the area

Please use caution, a large mountain lion was seen on the trails of Nagasawa Park earlier today. While the hills of Santa Rosa are a natural habitat for mountain lions, the Santa Rosa Police Department urges hikers and park goers to use caution, especially with young children and pets. Residents in the area are also urged to take extra care today with their small children and pets.

If you see a mountain lion:

• Do not run.
• Appear large and wave your arms.
• Speak in a loud, firm voice.
• Call 911 as soon as possible.
