Traffic Stop Leads to Felon’s Arrest and Firearm Seizure with Assistance from K-9 “Ghost”
On November 29, 2025, at approximately 9:44 p.m., an officer of the Santa Rosa Police Department conducted a traffic stop on the 2700 block of Corby Avenue for speeding. The driver, identified as 29-year-old Santa Rosa resident, Nathan Zingarelli, was determined to be on probation with search conditions that included his residence on the 6000 block of Montecito Boulevard.
During a probation search of the residence, an SRPD Officer and his K9 “Ghost” were called to the residence. K9 Ghost is specifically trained to detect firearms. Ghost alerted to a bedroom closet. Officers subsequently located a loaded Glock 19 9mm firearm with an extended magazine and indicia belonging to Zingarelli inside the closet. Zingarelli is a convicted felon and is prohibited by law from possessing firearms or ammunition.
Zingarelli was arrested and booked into the Sonoma County Jail for the following charges:
29800(a)(1) PC: Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
30305(a)(1) PC: Possession of ammunition by a convicted felon
1203.2 PC: Violation of probation
