SRPD News Release: SRPD Thanksgiving Holiday Safety Message
SRPD Thanksgiving Holiday Safety Message
The Santa Rosa Police Department wishes you a safe and happy Thanksgiving! As we approach the holiday, we want to remind everyone that Wednesday night is one of the busiest nights of the year for bars and parties. While we encourage everyone to enjoy the season, safety must come first.
To keep our community safe, SRPD will be upstaffing patrols on Wednesday evening and this weekend, with a strong presence in the downtown core and surrounding neighborhoods. Our officers will be focused on preventing impaired driving, addressing disturbances, and ensuring everyone gets home safely.
Safety Tips for a Responsible Celebration:
π· Plan Ahead: If you plan to drink, arrange a designated driver, rideshare, or taxi before heading out.
π Donβt Drink and Drive: DUI enforcement will be a priority! Getting behind the wheel impaired puts lives at risk. You can also expect a trip to jail with fines and fees exceeding $10,000.
π Stay Aware: Watch for pedestrians, cyclists, scooters, and e-bike riders, especially near bars and restaurants.
π Respect Your Neighbors: Keep noise levels down and avoid large, disruptive gatherings.
π Secure Your Property: Lock your home and vehicles before leaving for the evening.
π Report Problems: If you see unsafe behavior or need assistance, call SRPD at (707) 528-5222 or dial 911 for emergencies.
Letβs work together to make this holiday safe and enjoyable for everyone. Thank you for doing your part to keep Santa Rosa a great place to live and celebrate!
