Man Arrested for Vandalism to PG&E Building
On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 3:47 am, the Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) Communications Center received a call from an alarm company regarding motion being detected in a PG&E building near Stony Point Road. When an SRPD officer arrived on scene, he checked the building and noticed there was a broken window. Additional SRPD officers arrived on scene and could see movement in the building.
SRPD officers created a perimeter around the building and could see a male inside throwing items. SRPD Communications Center remained on the phone with the alarm company. Officers were able to gain entry into the building through the front door.
SRPD officers contacted the male inside, who was identified as Michael Owen, a 45-year-old transient from Santa Rosa. Owen was placed under arrest without incident. SRPD officers conducted a protective sweep of the building to ensure no other suspects were inside. Once inside, they were able to see a large amount of damage Owen had caused inside. The damage included flooded carpets, holes in walls, a broken window, and personal items that were smashed. It was estimated that the damage would cost between $10,000 and $20,000.
