Santa Rosa Police Investigate Fatal Traffic Collision
On Sunday, November 9, 2024, at 533 a.m., Santa Rosa Police Department officers responded to a report of a traffic collision with injuries in the area of W 8th Street and Warren Lane. The reporting party stated a vehicle had hit a fire hydrant and another parked vehicle.
Officers arrived on-scene along with personnel with the Santa Rosa Fire Department. The driver (sole occupant) was pronounced deceased at the scene. SRPD Accident Investigators and Field Evidence Technicians responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
The initial investigation has shown that a Chevrolet pickup was driving SB on Warren Lane at a high rate of speed. The pickup truck struck a fire hydrant prior to colliding into a parked car, near the intersection of W 8th Street and Warren Lane. The cause of the collision and any possible impairment is still under investigation
The deceased name will be withheld at this time, pending contact with the next of kin.
