...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 745 AM HST THIS MORNING FOR THE
ISLAND OF MAUI IN MAUI COUNTY...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.
* WHERE...The island of Maui in Maui County.
* WHEN...Until 745 AM HST.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in
streams. Overflowing poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 445 AM HST, Radar indicated heavy rain over southern Maui.
Rain was falling at a rate of 0.5 to 1 inches per hour.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Kihei, Keokea, Ulupalakua, Wailea, Makena, Kula and Maalaea.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.
Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on
foot. Turn around, don't drown.
This advisory may need to be extended beyond 745 AM HST if flooding
persists.
