MEMA ALERT: Flood Advisory For Molokaʻi Until 6:15 PM HST This Evening

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 615 PM HST THIS EVENING FOR THE
ISLAND OF MOLOKAI IN MAUI COUNTY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall.

* WHERE...The island of Molokai in Maui County.

* WHEN...Until 615 PM HST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in
streams.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 314 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over the island of
Molokai, particularly near Halawa Valley. Rain was falling at
a rate of 1 to 3 inches per hour. This advisory replaces the
2 advisories that were in effect for east and west Molokai
respectfully.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Kaunakakai, Kualapuu, Hoolehua, Kalaupapa National Park,
Kawela, Kamalo, Maunaloa, Ualapue, Pukoo, Kepuhi, Halawa
Valley and Molokai Airport.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.

persists.
