Fire hydrant flushing begins May 5

(Kirksville, MO) - Beginning Monday, May 5, 2025, the Utility Maintenance Division of the City of Kirksville’s Public Works Department will begin flushing several fire hydrants around town. This work ensures that both the water mains and fire hydrants function properly.

We mention this because you may see City staff working on fire hydrants, with lots of water coming out of the fire hydrants.

The project is expected to take two weeks, dependent upon the weather.
