City of Horseshoe Bay Alerts

Horseshoe Bay: Reminder City Offices, Recycling Center Closures

Attention, residents!

Due to the winter storm, City of Horseshoe Bay offices will be closed on Monday, January 26. Essential personnel, including Fire, Police, and Utilities will be operating.

  • If you experience an emergency during the storm, please call 911.
  • If you experience issues related to water or wastewater this weekend, please call the Utilities Department at 830.598.8741 and select Option 1 for After-Hours On-Call service. (A previous update incorrectly stated to press Option 2 for After-Hours service. Please note all After-Hours Service calls will prompt residents to select Option 1).
  • At this time, the Recycling Center is projected to close at Noon on Saturday and will remain closed until Tuesday morning.
  • The City does not expect to lose water. However, if an electrical outage occurs, grinder pumps will not work. Please try to conserve water if you lose electricity for this reason.

If you experience an electricity outage, here are four ways to report to Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC):
  • Text OUTAGE to 25022
  • Visit myPEC.com/report
  • Use the SmartHub app
  • Call 888-883-3379 (If you see a downed electric line, call PEC at this number).

Mayor Jeff Jones encourages citizens to check on their neighbors ahead of the storm. If your neighbor is out of town, please consider reaching out to them to see if they need assistance protecting outdoor water systems or help dripping faucets indoors. Please also be careful if you use space heaters to warm your home, as they present a fire hazard.

The City of Horseshoe Bay will continue to monitor the weather and send out any updates as needed.
