Indoor Pool Closure Update
Hello, Twinsburg. This is Mayor Sam Scaffide with an important update about our indoor pool at the Twinsburg Fitness Center. While not everyone uses the Fitness Center or pool, I thought it was important to share this update with our entire community.
During our annual cleaning and maintenance, we discovered the casing on a backwash valve had cracked and was leaking. These valves are essential to properly filtering contaminants and maintaining safe water chemistry. Safety is always our number one priority, so operating the pool without them simply isn’t an option.
Replacement valves were immediately located and ordered, but unfortunately, supplier delays have pushed their expected arrival into mid-September. Once they arrive, installation, refilling, heating, and testing will take additional time. We’re currently targeting September 30th for reopening, but if we can safely open sooner, we absolutely will.
While the pool is empty, we’re also taking the opportunity to make improvements to the sand filtration system now, rather than scheduling another closure in the future. This additional work will not extend our current reopening timeline.
In the meantime, Fitness Center members can use the outdoor Waterpark, and we’re making additional accommodations for those affected by the closure. You can find complete details and the latest updates by visiting MyTwinsburg.com/parks.
