Building Permits Moving Online Starting April 7


To provide a convenient way for residents and contractors to apply for permits and track their progress toward approval without a trip to City Hall, the Building Department will be launching an online permit portal on April 7. This process will allow you to submit permit applications, accompanying documents and payments to the City online and will streamline the process for City staff to review permits. 

Please note: From April 2 through April 6, the Building Department will be temporarily unable to accept building permit applications while we’re switching to the new system. Please hold onto all permit applications until April 7. Thank you for your patience as we make this important upgrade.

About Online Permit Applications

The MaintStar platform will take you step by step through the process to apply for a permit, outlining all of the supporting documents or plans you need to submit. The online portal will also allow you to track permit progress and check inspection results online.


Adding online permitting is part of the City's strategic initiative to improve service delivery by leveraging technology.
