Crews are scheduled to begin spot curb and sidewalk ramp removal and replacement starting Tuesday, September 15 on Gary Avenue between Wesley Street and Harrison Avenue, and on West Street between Wesley Street and Harrison Avenue.  

This work will require crews to temporarily detour traffic in these areas for a few hours at a time over the next several weeks. Drivers traveling through these areas should allow extra time, watch for posted detour signs and consider using alternate routes to avoid delays. 

Access to Longfellow Elementary School will remain available, however, traffic maybe temporarily detoured around the blocks of West Street between Wesley Street and Union Avenue at times.   

East-west pedestrian traffic on sidewalks near the school will be maintained. Crews will replace sidewalk ramps in phases to minimize disruptions.
