Cooling Stations Open in Charles City County This Week Due to Extreme Heat

Due to the dangerously high temperatures forecasted this week, and the number of people without power. Charles City County has established cooling stations at the following locations to help residents stay safe and cool:

📍 Fire Station 2
6600 Roxbury Road
Charles City, VA 23030

📍 Government Administration Building (GAB) Auditorium
10900 Courthouse Road
Charles City, VA 23030

📍 Charles City Social Center
8320 Ruthville Road
Ruthville, VA 23147

These cooling stations will be open to the public until 7:00 pm today, 07/28/2025 and tomorrow 07/29/2025. Residents are encouraged to take advantage of these safe, air-conditioned spaces, especially seniors, individuals with medical conditions, and those without access to cooling in their homes.

Please stay hydrated, limit outdoor activity during the hottest parts of the day, and check in on neighbors, friends, and loved ones.
