The Portland Public Library will serve as Portland’s cooling center today during its normal hours of 10 AM to 5 PM. The City of Portland is activating a cooling center as the National Weather Service added Portland to its heat advisory today from 11 AM to 8 PM. 

Additionally, the City urges people to take advantage of the Deering Oaks Ravine, the Kiwanis Pool, and the several splash pads around the city. 

People are urged to limit outdoor activities, drink plenty of water, and wear light colored clothing. We ask that you check on your elderly neighbors to make sure they are okay, and never leave children or pets in parked vehicles.
