Description

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, north central,
northeast, northwest, and west central Georgia, including the
following areas, in central Georgia, Butts, Jasper, Monroe and
Putnam. In east central Georgia, Greene. In north central Georgia,
Barrow, Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Dawson, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette,
Forsyth, Gilmer, Gwinnett, Hall, Henry, Morgan, Newton, North
Fulton, Pickens, Rockdale, South Fulton and Walton. In northeast
Georgia, Clarke, Jackson and Oconee. In northwest Georgia, Bartow,
Carroll, Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Floyd, Gordon, Haralson,
Murray, Paulding, Polk, Walker and Whitfield. In west central
Georgia, Chattahoochee, Coweta, Harris, Heard, Lamar, Meriwether,
Muscogee, Pike, Spalding, Talbot, Troup and Upson.

* WHEN...From Sunday morning through Monday evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- An approaching storm system will bring heavy rainfall and
thunderstorms to portions of north and central Georgia on
Sunday and Sunday Night. This system may stall over the
state, bringing the potential for 2-4" of rainfall across the
Flood Watch area, with isolated amounts of up to 5" possible
where repeated rounds of heavy rainfall occur.
