Greetings - We have uploaded the weekly report to our website at www.lytletx.org/police

For the week ending Sunday, September 20th, 2026, … Lytle P.D. officers handled 56 calls for service and conducted 48 traffic stops. Of those stops, 15 resulted in citations, and 33 were warnings.
There were no reports of property crimes last week!
There were two arrests last week. #1 – A domestic disturbance on Imes Way resulted in the arrest of a 38-year-old male for Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member. #2 – A traffic stop for speeding on Main Street resulted in the arrest of a 28-year-old male for D.W.I.  In both cases, the arrestees were booked into the Atascosa County Jail.
Don’t forget our National Night Out event will be on Tuesday, October 6th at the Lytle Community Center on Priest Blvd. The hours will be from 6 PM – 8 PM. Area law enforcement, fire, and emergency services staff and equipment will be present. We will provide food, drinks, and snacks. We have a lot of local businesses and organizations that will be set up as well.
Mark your calendar! Saturday, December 12th, 2026, is the date of our Christmas Hayride. We will meet that evening at the Lytle Community Center and board trailers for an old-fashioned hayride around Lytle to check out the lights. This is a very popular event that we have done for over 25 years. It’s family friendly and the only cost is about a buck a person or a canned food item.  More details to follow.
It is done! The Lytle 75th Anniversary event has come and gone. A lot of time and effort went into planning this event, and it paid off. Unfortunately, I ended up sick last week and missed the event! I could hear it from my house, though.  Fortunately, I usually had a member of my command staff at the planning meetings with me.  Captain M. Dear and Sergeant D. Lopez were able to step right in and get the job done. That is how it should always work. I want to thank our officers who helped make the event a success. A big thank you also to Atascosa County Sheriff Jake Guerra, who not only showed up but also sent deputies to assist with our road closure. I am sorry I missed this one; I know there were a lot of people out there wanting to take pictures with me. I also heard that there was some illegal betting on when and if I would fall off my police e-bike during the event.
Once everyone has had a few weeks to recover, I plan on emailing the mayor and asking him to start setting up meetings for our next big event … the 100th anniversary of our city. We want to make “2051” a year to remember.
