Description
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...South Central Mountains, including the Ruidoso area burn
scars.
* WHEN...Thursday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- A backdoor front moving into the region combined with above
average moisture will result in the development of showers
and thunderstorms across the Sacramento Mountains midday
Thursday. Locally heavy rainfall amounts of around 1 inch
could fall on the Ruidoso area burn scars Thursday afternoon
resulting in a higher risk for flash flooding and debris
flows on and downstream of the burn scars.
