High Wind Warning issued December 23 at 8:09PM PST until December 24 at 7:00PM PST by NWS Seattle WA

Description

* WHAT...Southeast winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts 50 to 60 mph
expected.

* WHERE...Island County, Lowlands of Western Skagit and Northwestern
Snohomish Counties, Lowlands of Western Whatcom County, Port
Townsend Area, San Juan County, and Downtown Everett / Marysville
Area.

* WHEN...From 1 PM to 7 PM PST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Winds will initially begin as
east/northeasterly in the morning before an abrupt shift to
southerly by midday, with which the strongest winds will occur.
Highly saturated soils will allow for an enhaced risk of tree
damage and uprooting.

Instructions

People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees
and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home
during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must
drive.
